Absolute must if you use a Bait Cannon or Bait Launcher. Coil the line between the prongs, set baited hook on top, and no more tangled lines! Aerodynamic nose makes frozen slugs fly like a bullet, no more tumbling in air, losing distance. The prongs also help hold the ice bullet together, rather than coming apart mid-air, losing distance. Can also shoot non frozen bait with the stiff prongs that keep the snug fitting slug from turning in the barrel. With slugs weighing between 5oz-16oz, 1.5", 2", 2.5", and 3" slugs available, you can experience the correct way to fish with a Bait Cannon!
Bait Cannon Slugs were invented out of necessity, after being completely dissatisfied with just about the entire Bait Cannon experience. Now, I wouldn't even consider using a Bait Cannon without BAIT CANNON SLUGS!

Each Bait Cannon Slug is individually made, formed, and checked for fit in sch40 barrels (sch80 upon request) with just enough room for a shock leader inside the barrel with the Bait Cannon Slug.
WHY ARE BAIT CANNON SLUGS SO SUCCESSFUL?
WHY ARE THEY ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY?
HERE ARE THE ADVANTAGES AND COMMON PROBLEMS THEY SOLVE:
#1-Tangled leader line-
One of the biggest pains is missing a fish because you were hooked around your own leader. Now you're spending time trying to untangle a knotted leader instead of unhooking a fish. Don't just shove everything into the mold and hope for the best. Bait Cannon Slugs solves this problem by allowing the leader line, however long you want to use, to be neatly coiled between the stiff prongs, with baited hook set on top of the coil, holding it down while freezing, prevents that hook from getting caught on it's leader. With Bait Cannon Slugs, every frozen bullet comes out perfect. Without Bait Cannon Slugs, you'll have line going wherever it wants inside the mold, making a less solid ice bullet. Hook catching on the leader line, lines poking out of the sides, making it more difficult when you take it out of the mold and try to get it down the barrel. Bait Cannon Slugs solves this problem.
#2- Ice bullet coming apart-
It's a sad thing to see your hard work freezing that ice missle just to watch it shatter to pieces upon launch. There's a reason this happens. Atomic weight. We're dealing with violent reactions with high psi when launching. Lead has a much greater atomic weight than ice. The ice will want to move much sooner than the lead will. If it can easily find a path to move around the lead, it will, and this will cause your ice bullet to shatter. Bait Cannon Slugs prevents this from happening by being a snug fitting solid platform for the ice to push against, rather than trying to go around. With all the lead completely outside of the ice, at the tip, you now have a stronger, more solid ice bullet, which is far less likely to shatter, combined with all the leader line contained inside the prongs, against and at the base of the Bait Cannon Slugs, IT IS SOLID. If you use a pyramid weight, or random spider weight, it will most definitely shatter far more often as the ice blasts past the lead.
Bait Cannon Slugs solves this problem.
#3- More distance
The aerodynamic, snug fitting tip of Bait Cannon Slugs will help your frozen bullets find their center at launch, and fly straighter, sooner in it's flight path, dramatically increasing distance. The stiff prongs will hold the snug fitting lead tip to the ice bullet, and essentially hold the entire ice bullet together throughout the violent water landing. Without Bait Cannon Slugs, the flat nosed frozen bullet just turns sideways against the wind and wobbles wherever, killing the distance.
Bait Cannon Slugs solves this problem.
#4- Dealing with leader storage.
You're done catching, now what to do with the leader and weight? Throw it in the tackle box with the others and untangle em later? Naw. Just coil that leader neatly up inside the stiff prongs of the Bait Cannon Slugs, slap a rubber band on, BOOM! Already ready for bait next time. Nice and neat.
#5- Price of surf sinkers
You'll be needing a heavy lead weight anyways being as far out as you can get. Look at current surf fishing weight prices ...I'm sure something is less expensive...
...Bait Cannon Slugs...
#6- Versatility
You can double up on baited hooks with a high degree of confidence that they won't tangle with each other if loaded into the mold with attention using Bait Cannon Slugs. Simply coil your line between the prongs and set baited hook on top, as normal, then do it again with another coil, and another baited hook on top of the 1st bait.
#7- Shooting non-frozen bait or live bait
Everything has been tried as a wad many times. 🥔 potatoes get the most abuse. With Bait Cannon Slugs, they are the wad, they are the 🥔. While you won't get 300 yards shooting non-frozen with Bait Cannon Slugs, as you could with frozen Bait Cannon Slugs, you'll get further than you can cast. The stiff prongs are there to keep the lead slug from turning inside the barrel.
#8- Catch %
With Bait Cannon Slugs, I catch something good 99.999% of the times I go shooting. It wasn't like that before Bait Cannon Slugs
I wouldn't use a Bait Cannon without Bait Cannon Slugs. They are needed as much as a chamber and barrel are needed to be successful with a Bait Cannon.
